Art imitates life

Have you ever seen the show Heroes? Before the show first aired I saw the previews and even back then I was hooked.

To me it's a show about Hope.

More importantly, it's about connectivity.

When the show started the charachters were strangers and as it unfolded you started to see coincidences, if in the world you believe in coincidences. Then they started to realize not only their powers but also that they were all connected.

Art imitates Life.

You, me, your neighbors, my neighbors, our communities, the people in the next town. We're all connected.

In the show they need each other.

We need each other as well.

Without one another we have no reason for Hope, and Hope, is what helps us to survive.

Human nature drives us towards actions that causes us to think that when we act, we're acting alone. We think that what we do will effect noone else. Human nature is wrong.

It's a wonder we have made it this far as a species. There is one reason that we have made it as far as we have.

Hope.

Hope that we can get through it. Hope that what we're doing is the right thing. Hope that we can reach that one person that we need and needs us.

Hope.

In heroes the first big catch phrase was, "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World."

Silly. Or is it?

The message here as I suspect since they have only proceeded a couple of episodes since, is that one person can have a destiny, but that person may need your help first in order to fulfill that destiny. What if one message gave someone hope and that person used that hope in order to change their life, and in that change "saved the world".

We have a responsability to one another.

I hope for you. I hope that you realize how connected you really are and that you're not alone.

You can touch the world.

The charachters in Herores aren't sure what happened to them. They're only starting to realize the scope fo their abilities. Dealing with those things can be tough. Tougher than if they ignored it and did nothing.

Life is tough.

Having Hope is tougher.

Being connected may be one of the toughest choices ever.

Which path will you choose.
